What is Vihar ID? One player identity across games

Use the same Vihar ID on participating community game websites. Learn how sign-in, private play activity and supported cloud saves work together.

Your identity travels with you

Vihar ID is your player account and public username on Vihar. A participating studio can put a Sign in with Vihar ID button on its own game website, alongside any other sign-in options it offers. You sign in on Vihar and choose whether to connect that game.

The game receives a stable player ID and your public display name, username and avatar. Your email, password, friends and another game's saved progress are not shared. Vihar ID is the product name; references to VHAR ID or VR ID in conversation mean this same account.

Play on the studio’s own website

  1. Open Community Games and choose a game. Read its controls, requirements and player-access information.
  2. Select Play game. Vihar opens the creator's own HTTPS website in a new tab.
  3. For a game with accounts or saved progress, choose Sign in with Vihar ID on that website.
  4. Check the game name and exact website in the Vihar permission window, then allow the connection.
  5. Return to the game. The studio starts your session and loads any supported saved progress.

One dashboard, separate game saves

Your dashboard brings recorded community play time, session totals and recently played games together. A game can save its own progress through the Vihar ID API, so it can load that progress when you return using the same ID on another device.

Saves are isolated by game. A racing game's save is not usable by a card game, and adding Vihar ID does not automatically create multiplayer, achievements or cloud saves. The developer must connect those features to its game.

Games without accounts can start immediately

A game that does not use accounts or saved player progress does not need an in-game login screen. You can launch it directly. Sign in on Vihar before launching if you want its connected activity attributed to your dashboard. Anonymous visits cannot be attached to a personal dashboard.
