Game permissions, privacy and disconnecting Vihar ID

See what a connected game can access, what stays private, how activity-only tracking differs from login, and how to disconnect a studio's game.

What an identity connection can access

After you approve Sign in with Vihar ID, the game can read your stable player ID, public username, display name and avatar. It can read and write its own cloud progress and record its own play sessions.

It cannot read your email, password, friends, another game's saves or your complete dashboard activity. Game tokens expire after 12 hours and are limited to their game and registered origin. Your chosen public profile remains publicly accessible separately.

What an activity-only connection can access

When you launch a direct-play game while signed in to Vihar, the launch can carry a one-use activity ticket to its registered website. It enables that game to record its own play session without showing an in-game login prompt. It does not reveal your player profile or grant cloud-save access.

The launch page explains this behavior. You can play as a guest without attaching activity to an account. Do not confuse necessary gameplay reporting with permission for advertising trackers; each studio must explain its own additional data practices.

Stop a game’s current access

Disconnecting retains past activity and cloud saves. It does not erase copies a studio already received or automatically terminate a studio's independent cookie. The studio must honor Vihar revocation when verifying its session. Contact support for data-deletion requests.

  1. Open Dashboard → Account → Connected games.
  2. Find the game and check its origin.
  3. Choose Disconnect. Existing game tokens and outstanding connection codes become unusable.
  4. Close or sign out of the studio's game too if it maintains a separate game session.
  5. To reconnect later, launch it from Vihar again or approve a new Vihar ID sign-in on its website.

Review and export your account data

Account settings includes a JSON data export with your profile, website activity, game statistics, connections and game saves. Keep it private: it can contain your game progress and account email. Share only a redacted error description with support.

Read Vihar's Privacy notice and the studio's own notice. Report unexpected permission screens or a game asking for your Vihar password.
